Normandy

Normandy is one historically loaded region of France. Covered with cathedrals, castles, chateaux, abbeys among which the Mt Saint Michel, it was the theater of many episodes in France’s history.

The middle age and Renaissance saw this area belong either to England or the french crown, modern times saw the landing of June 44 and fierce battles in the countryside. Today it is a quiet jewel riddled with small villages, green hills and hedges and a cuisine that it has its treats.

Should you visit France, you must go here and simply drive across this region that in some ways looks a bit like the Shire, the region where the Hobbits live. Peaceful and intemporal.
