A railroad created between 1852 and 1869, its path runs right around most of southern Paris and also straight into it. No longer used for transportation of people since the 30’s, it was still in use until the late 80’s for other traffic but is now completely forgotten & quiet.
It’s a weird feeling walking on these abandoned tracks that leads through tunnels of various lengths, high bridges and deep running paths, a walk that lets you putting foot on a piece of parisian history that seems to be forgotten. Actually not by all people as we met a few guys there, visitors, taggers, homeless people, but overall considered, it’s like a haven of peace while the city runs all around it.
