Romania was on my to do list for a while and a long weekend in May allowed us finally to spend 4 days in Transsylvania.
The region is simply beautiful and riddled with castles, fortified churches, historical churches, all dating back to times where germans were living in the area. After WWII they left and were also chased by the Ceauscescu regime but their houses, names and villages still stand and are now the target of renovations to preserve them from slow decay.
Cities like Rasov, Sighisoara, Sibiu are incredibly beautiful and very well preserved. We finished our stay with an aerial view of the Parliament to get a breathtaking view of this overdimensional construction. It was really impressive and my guess is we’ve to go back to get more of this country !
