Insignificant town at the border facing the Mekong and Laos, Chiang Hong does not have much to offer. A few nice family restaurants, 1 single street and the view on the river are all you can expect here. There’s also a temple in the center somewhere but globally speaking not much to expect here. For new year’s eve indeed people lit up candles in flying lanterns that created a nice effect.
