Attempted Light Painting at Palais Royal
Well this time we weren’t lucky as we could spend only 45mn in the spot we chose that evening : The gardens of the Palais Royal. After that a guard showed up and led us out of the area as it is not allowed to use a tripod when around the parisian monuments. Kinda weird & stupid rule but he enforced it.
Actually it wasn’t that dark and we had also to manage the yellow light from the galleries left & right that misled our white balances. Indeed this is a spot where I wanted to come back again to shoot the alleys of trees while lighting them up. We manage to do a few good shootings before moving over to the gardens of the Louvre. I had the new EL wire with that efficiently produces a fog/smoke effect when used adequately.
At the Louvre, there too in the Cour Napoleon, the sodium lighting was really shitty and prevented any opportunity of shooting LP in the darkness. We moved to the gardens and there managed to find a quiet spot with a view on the Eiffel tower. Indeed, the yellow sodium light distorted the white balance and our pics were average. Anyway here they are, enjoy.
