A few words to explain the rules of this site and the way I take pictures.
I’ve lots of friends who are happy to play around with Photoshop or better : Lightroom or even software that goes as far as to correct the lens’ distortion. Nice, impressive and with all my respect as this needs time and expertise to be used and to reach results.
On my side, there are no concessions made on pictures I take. I’ve several iron rules I stick to and I don’t make any concessions on these.
I never process a picture afterwards.
No special effects, no processing of any kind except 2 things : Gamma & Sharpness when the pic is really interesting. I also allow myself sometimes a cropping of the interesting part to reframe the picture but do not change resolution or the picture’s structure.
If the picture is over exposed or underexposed, so be it. If it can get a better lighting through a special filter, well then I wasn’t good enough with the camera or do not have the right film or equipment.
I keep all pics.
Even if I put online only a selection, I keep indeed every picture I take. My aim is more informative than anything else and I’m trying to capture a moment by all means. Hence, what would be considered as garbage by others stays on my drive.
All devices allowed. From the full frame camera over to the iPhone or film camera, there’s no rule. Some people are very selective and hardliners on quality and resolution, this is not my concern. I take pictures, wherever I am, with what I’ve in my pocket at the present moment. Point is to catch a moment, not to do Art each time.
